William "Bill" Gorde's Obituary
William "Bill" Gorde, age 69, of Marine City, passed away March 27, 2015. He was born on February 1, 1946 in Garden City to the late William Gorde and Virginia Edwards. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era. He worked as a lineman for the Detroit Edison and retired from there after many years of service. He enjoyed bowling, boating, fishing, and playing cards.
He is survived by the love of his life; Karon Gorde, children; Mark (Kim) French, Pat French, Jill Gorde (Erica Gonzales), and Amy Gorde-Thomas (Brian).
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Robin, Veronica, Chris, Zack, Brielle, and Emma, brothers and sisters; Susan (Dan) Dlouhy, Marilyn (Tim) Vorce, Nancy Edwards, Jimmy Edwards, Tommy (Wendy) Edwards, step-father; Harold Edwards, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his step-mother; Syrena Gorde and beloved cousin; Mark Gorde.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Urn interment will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorials are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
