Wendell Allen Johnson's Obituary
On Sunday May 30, 2021 Wendell Allen Johnson went home to be with his Lord and Savior after a brave and well fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born January 21, 1959 in Decatur, Alabama to Cecil Allen and Edna Ruth Johnson, Wendell was the youngest of five kids. The Johnson Family moved to Shelby, North Carolina, where Wendell graduated high school, before relocating to Midland, Michigan with Davis Constructors. Wendell found fulfillment in his professional journey as an electrician that eventually landed him
a role of Project Manager at Schneider Electric. Wendell had a love for sunshine, always loved a good time and never turned down a game of golf, a passion that he was thrilled to be able to pass along to his kids. He leaves behind his wife Tracey, her son Austin, brothers Allen and Byron Johnson , sister Mary Johnson, his three children Sara (Dan) TerBurgh, Steve (Shanna) Johnson, and Shawn Johnson, his beloved grandchildren Danny, Tommy, Emmalea, Jarica, Flynn, and Jackson, his friend for life Connie, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Edna and his brother Brian. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Henry Ford Detroit Hospital Lung Transplant Team and the Cardiac ICU staff for taking such great care of Wendell these last few months. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
