I’m so sorry to hear about Wendell and Brian’s passing. Several families grew up together during summers at a Lake Norman campground.
Wendell and I graduated from Shelby High School together and as young guys we ran around together some until he moved to Michigan. He was one of our "gang" who hung out and did all the things that high school boys will do. We called him "Possum in high school but I don't really remember why. I tracked him down and we talked on the phone about 25...maybe 30 years ago when he was still in Michigan the first time. Connected with him by email about 3 years ago after he was retired. We talked about him maybe making our 45th class reunion, which just happened a few months back in 2022.....I was shocked and saddened to hear he had passed. Wendell was a warm and friendly person and you always knew where he stood. Loyal and he would always have your back. We had lots of fun together back then. In reading his obituary, I was surprised to see that his brother Brian had also passed. Brian and I were on the wrestling team together at Shelby High when he was a senior and Wendell and I were sophomores. I couldn't find an obituary for him...wondering what happened. My condolences for both.

He was the possum to me and my best friend all the way thru high school
I had the pleasure of working with Wendell for a few years and appreciated his ability to juggle many responsibilities and carry a good sense of humor. Rest In Peace Wendell.
My Condolences & sympathy to Wendall and his family. Simeone !!

Although I retired a few years ago I remember Wendell well. He was always very nice and kept his sense of humor despite a very demanding job.
