Growing up in the same neighborhood with Ted, Noreen, and the rest of the Meldrum clan in the 70s was really something like growing up in Leave It to Beaver or The Wonder Years. Ted was indeed like Ward Cleaver or Jack Arnold, always the fatherly figure trying to keep everybody happily in line. He never had a bad mood or said a harsh word—always jovial, and once in a while, he'd catch one of us straying "outside the lines," and I really can still hear his voice calling out our names one by one. Many of these stories will be shared next week at the service for Ted. It's always tough to lose your parents, but it was quite amazing to see and hear of Ted's incredible life right up to the end, and I am certainly hoping that I can live such a full life until my own end. Condolences to the entire Meldrum family, and I'm just so very proud to have had a front-row seat for the show.
