Sophia M. Manikas' Obituary
Sophia M. Manikas, age 97, of St. Clair, formerly of Detroit went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2016. She was born September 9, 1918 in Detroit to the late John and Anna Walukiewicz.
Sophia was active in many community activities. She loved painting and also sang in the Marwood Choir.
She is survived by her daughters; Sharon A. Sarotte and Cindy (Ron) Sabotka, grandchildren; Kimberly M. DelGrosso, Peter J. Sarotte, Jennifer (Deward) Knapp and Elizabeth (Stephen) Klein and great grandchildren Elle Marie, Giorgio, Peter, Sydney, Kiel, Sophie, Hailey and Tyler. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years John C. Manikas, son John E. Manikas, brother Walter Walukiewicz and sister Genevieve Walukiewicz.
Funeral service will be Monday March 21st at 12:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, East China Twp. Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday 11 to 12 prior to service.
