Katherine Mullins
Sophia, I never knew that was her name. Not surprised because growing up I viewed her as sophisticated. 50 years ago the east side of Detroit was beautiful. The street my dear childhood friend grew up on was particularly nice. The house that Cindy grew up in was immaculate. Forgive me if I have her nick name wrong but I could have sworn Mr. Manikas called her Mickey. She kept a beautiful home and it had a smell that I would love to have in mine. I don't know what it was but it was something I never forgot. Looking at her picture shows me where her 2 beautiful daughters got their looks! Mrs. Manikas was above the rest in fashion. She looked like someone dressed from Paris. Her makeup was always on and before lip liner was popular she wore it. In the 80's Mr & Mrs Manikas use to come in the restaurant where I worked. She sparkled in those days. I remember the glistening in her eyes, the smile on her face and her happiness and special style that was uniquely her own. God bless her and all of you! She will always be remembered in a gracious and beautiful way. Love & Prayers, Kay (Spilos) Mullins XOX
