Robert A. Beier's Obituary
Robert A. Beier, age 93, of St. Clair passed away peacefully on May 10, 2017. Robert was born August 15, 1923 in Casco Twp., to the late Herman and Elsie Beier.
On September 17, 1949 Robert married Christine Foley in Peters, Michigan. Christine preceded him in death April 2, 2016.
Bob honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy Seabees, in Okinawa, during World War II. He was a 68 year active/retired member of Operating Engineers Local 324 and was employed with Foster Building Supplies and Winkworth Concrete in Port Huron for 38 years. He was a 50 year member of the St. Clair Special Police and was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, St. Clair for 63 years.
Bob enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Beier-Greeson, Mary Ellyn (Don) Snyder and Robert C. (Ann) Beier; grandchildren, Laura (Arden) Howell, Brent (Amanda) Snyder, Dayna Snyder, Robert P. and Randall Beier; great grandchildren, Adrienne Howell and Jaxson Snyder; brother in law, William Martindale and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Harold and Ralph Beier and sister, Ethel Gramzow.
Funeral services will be Tuesday May 16th at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Monday 2 to 8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Tuesday 10:30 to 11 a.m. at church prior to service.
