We are getting to be of the age when death is more tangible and real than it used to feel. So many of the South Riverside neighborhood parents are gone and greatly missed. They were good parents who worked hard, motivated, in large part, to provide a good foundation and opportunity for their children. Mr. Beier (so he will always be to me) was one of those parents. Always quick to greet the neighborhood kids with a friendly "hello" and warm smile, taking a few moments to hear how you were doing. He worked hard at his job and in his home and garden, but he found time to help his children with sports and life lessons. He enjoyed life! He made people around him just feel good!
