Pauline E. Said's Obituary
Pauline E. Said, age 88, of Marine City, formerly of Shelby Twp., passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024. She was born on April 21, 1935 to the late John and Sophie Jovanovich. She was a graduate of Cass Tech High School. Pauline married Louis Said on July 16, 1955. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2000. Pauline was a woman of faith and a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. In her spare time, she was an avid quilter. Making blankets for all of her children and grandchildren. Pauline cherished the time she spent with her family. She loved the holidays and having the family over, then later in life going to her children’s houses. She especially enjoyed the mother-daughter shopping trips. Pauline had a special bond with her brother, Dr. John Jovanovich. Her beloved brother preceded her in death, and that loss was very hard on her. Losing not only a close friend, but her brother.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Mitchell, Annette (Francis) Bernardi, Steven Said, Nancy (Michael) Parslow; grandchildren, Andrea, Joey, Nathan (Sarah), Anna, Jennifer, Steven, Katelyn (Steve), Michael Jr. (Megan), Cody, and Olivia; as well as 6 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis; daughter, Donna Maske; and granddaughter, Shannon Downey.
A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to mass at church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Marine City, MI. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
