Norman Joseph Pruitt's Obituary
Norman Joseph Pruitt Sr., age 89, of Grosse Pointe Woods formerly of St. Clair, passed away surrounded by family after a brief illness on January 8, 2024. He was born September 7, 1934 to the late John and Loretta Pruitt. Norman graduated from St. Clair High School class of 1955, he honorably served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After his time in the service Norman went on to work for the Big 3 as an automotive layout inspector for 25 years.
He enjoyed traveling up north to camp and visit family, building anything and painting anything. He was also a Tribal Elder with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Norman is survived by his children, Linda Pruitt, Barb Pruitt, Norman Pruitt, Samuel Pruitt, Carolyn (Kevin) Wilson; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Gerry (Gayle) Pruitt, Virginia Barr, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Christine; grandson, Ryan Pruitt; siblings, Marion Moug, John Pruitt.
