My father was truly a unique individual. Although we may not have been close in the past two decades, I cherish the memories of my childhood when he was the fun and humorous parent. He would drop everything in an instant to take us somewhere exciting, like the Thanksgiving Day parade, after watching it on TV. He was my source of comfort when my cat got hit by a car, always there to console me. Despite his explosive temper at times, he was the one I felt most at ease sharing my thoughts and feelings with. I'll never forget how he would give me $20 just for saying that I loved him. He had a unique sense of humor. He taught me how to drive, while he drank beer in the passenger seat 😂. He taught me how to paint a garage. He actually had a lot of patience when it came to teaching us things. He taught me how to mow the lawn, and when I messed it up on purpose so he wouldn’t ask me to do it again, he made me redo it, which just made more work for me. I remember when he told Sam and I we won the lottery and we thought we were rich, but we only won $7. His absence will be deeply felt, and may he find eternal peace in the embrace of the Lord. Now, he can finally be reunited with my mother for eternity.
