Mrs. Mildred C. Schmidt's Obituary
Mildred C. Schmidt, age 89, of Ira Township, died March 31, 2013. Mildred received her Librarian degree from Cast Western and her Masters degree in teaching from Western University. Her first teaching job was in Litchfield, Mich. and later came to East China School District and taught for 40 years in Marine City Schools.
She married Howard Schmidt in 1967. He preceded her in death in 2000. Mildred was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Casco Twp. where she was active with WELCA Women's Group.
She is survived by a brother; Howard (Helen) Bolton and many nieces and nephews, including special nephew and niece John and Janet Smiedendorf. Mildred also enjoyed spending her Tuesday's going to lunch at Tim Horton's and shopping with special friend Doreen Zuber and Thursday's having lunch with dear friends Dale and Nancy Keyt. Mildred's great sense of humor and many stories of the past will be greatly missed by Sharlene and Will and all the other relatives, neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by sister; Carol Smiedendorf, brothers; Bill and Chuck Bolton, step brother; Samuel Bolton and step sister; Murtle Fullmer.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday April 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 5322 Palms Rd. Casco. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
