Mildred (Miss Bolton) was my high school teacher in English and Latin (1945-1949)). Although I wasn't her best student she was my best teacher. Even when she gave me a "D" in English during my Senior year I still admired and respected her for her efforts above and beyond. To end the story I went on to her alma mater, Western Michigan, and eventually (after the Korean War) went on to earn my Ph.D. Thanks, Miss Bolton for waking me up to smell the roses!
