Marvin P. Markel, Jr.'s Obituary
Marvin P. Markel, Jr., age 50, of St.Clair Twp. passed away August 7, 2014. He was born to Marvin and Alynne Markel on May 20, 1964 in St. Clair. He married Kathleen Gurnsey on October 2, 1993 in Marine City. He was an avid sports van, especially baseball and enjoyed coaching his kids Little League teams. He was very easy going and loved to joke with is family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; Kathleen Markel, children; Andrea and Joshua Markel, father; Marvin Markel, Sr., siblings; Mary Spencer, Diane Markel, David (JeriAnn) Markel, Julie (Lou) Wilson.
He is also survived by his father and mother in-law; Michael and Barbara Gurnsey, sister in-law; Rebecca (Chad) McMillan, brother in-law; Thomas (Amy) Gurnsey and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; Alynne Markel, brother in-law; Mark Spencer and nephew; Brian Markel.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
