To me, Marvel is now and has always been an angle. She came to California when she was 17 years old to celebrate her cousin Bobby Brooks' 18th birthday and then more recently, she traveled again to SoCal to celebrate his 80th birthday. It was always viewed with happiness and as an honor to have any of the the Michigan relatives come stay but a visit from Marvel was extra-special because she was known to be a homebody.
A week before she was hospitalized for the last time, she sent us two delicious coffee cakes to cheer us up, again on the occassion of Bob's birthday. Marvel was a great lady known by all for her kind heart. She was and will always be a role model on how to live well. I will love her forever.

Dear Susan, Sharon,Michele & Craig,
Marvel was very dear to me. I believe we first met when I was about 6 and she was 8. For many years our times together were quite frequent. Playing cards in the evening with our kids in tow. As time went on our paths didn’t cross very often. We moved up north, so distance was an issue. However many of my childhood & young adult memories are of good times together. One of the most prominent memories was our 8 hour flight to meet the California cousins in 1955 (we were 16 & 18 years old). It was a fun 2 weeks with many happy memories!
Rest In Peace my friend.
Your cousin,
Jeannine Cahoon
I only knew Mar from our exercise class. She was a very nice lady who always had a smile on her face. She will be missed.
Sending my sincere sympathy to her family . She was a sweet lady Ruth Kollmorgen
Marv I will always remember our wedding day and all the times we celebrated in the summer when we came home from Florida and then the times you and I got together after we lost our mates. I will miss you until we meet again.
