Marvalyn Mann Brown's Obituary
Marvalyn Mann Brown’s journey began on September 19, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan when she was born to the late Rumsey Field Mann & Susie Taylor Mann. She was the 8th child out of 11 children. Five siblings preceded her in death – her brothers DetAtris Mann, Rumsey F. Mann Jr., Columbus Mann Sr., Vernon I. Mann and her sister, Sandra Franks.
In 1965 on April 3rdMarvalyn was united in holy matrimony to Elder Joseph Clarence Brown, Sr. This union was blessed with 8 children – Marnita, Joseph Jr., David, Raymond V. Brown who preceded her in death and who currently is enjoying her company, Phillip, Michelle, Marvalinn and Marlene.
She began her education in the Detroit Public School system and always enjoyed learning which allowed her to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
Marvalyn was affectionately called “Mobby” by many who loved her. She enjoyed working in the community as a church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and playing the piano for the church. Her continued love for people extended to numerous areas in her life in both the Detroit and Richmond areas.
Marvalyn loved to sing and just about everywhere she went everyone knew it also. She shared her gift that God had blessed her with at church, at home, within the community and even with her students in the Richmond Public School System. The students enjoyed the treat of her voice and would only experience her melodic tones if they were behaving in class.
Marvalyn lost her singing voice here on earth to sing in heaven on January 2, 2019. During her transition at McLaren Macomb hospital she was surrounded by her caring husband and children by her side who ushered her out with prayer, songs and praise.
Cherished memories of Marvalyn will always linger in the hearts of her loving husband, Joseph Clarence Brown, Sr., her mother-in-law Lucille Clanton, her four daughters - Marnita C. Williams, Michelle L. Weathersby (Kevin), Marvalinn C. Stull (Nathan), Marlene C. Nassar (Gary) her three sons - Joseph C. Brown, Jr. (Lydia), David R. Brown (Rita), and Phillip A. Brown (Belynder); Brothers - Charles Mann (Carol), David D. Mann (Fay), Selara Mann (Dianne); Sisters – Normor Jean, Iva Sharron Brown (Ross); Sister-in-laws – Novella Mann, Rosalie Mann.
Continued with her Grandchildren – Lee D.Williams, Marlena O. Williams, Jonathan E. Williams, Gabrielle S. Williams, Danielle S. Brown, Joseph C. Brown, III, Joseph S. Brown, Javontey R. Brown, Tramonys J. Jackson, Sade S. Brown, Ethan C. Brown, Phillip A. Brown, II, Oliva Brown, Jarrett S. Weathersby, Kristin N. Weathersby, Lauren E. Weathersby, Micah L. Weathersby, Autumn N. Stull, Grant T. Stull, Daniel L. Stull, Broc C. Stull and Great-grandchildren – Abriella Brown, Kenzi Kachi Maduka, Anaria Daniely

Marvalyn we thank you so much, for the great memories. You were a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We love you forever.
