Marvalyn and I have been friends since we were 12 y/o in Detroit. We always kept in contact with each other although we lived miles apart. She was my very first friend when my family moved to Detroit from Arkansas and we stayed best friends through the years. We didn't visit each other a lot but we always stayed in contact with,each other.; shared news about our families and different events in our lives. I will truly miss our phone conversations, our laughter and prayers for each other. Rest in heavenly peace my dear friend.
Mrs. Brown had the gift of making everyone she met feel special! She was a well respected teacher and admired by many. I feel fortunate to have made her acquaintance and will cherish my memories of her.
Mrs. Brown was the BEST substitute teacher EVER! She was an amazing & loving soul. Never a negative word and always two hands willing to help any student. Her mind was brilliant and her heart was pure gold. I was so proud that she thought I was a good teacher and better person. Prayers to her entire family. God bless all of them.
My prayers are with her family. She was a substitute teacher at the high school (Marine City) I teach at and the students loved her. I remember that she even sang songs to them as a reward sometimes and the teenagers would brag about if she sang to their class or not and talk about how they never heard a voice like hers.

She was the sweetest substitute teacher ever. There were several times she subbed for my English class and made me see my writing potential, that I never knew I had. She would light up wherever she went with positivity and love. Heaven has an amazing angel with them now. I remember her singing Amazing Grace to the whole class and just bringing such joy. Fly high in heaven.
