Kenneth Springborn's Obituary
Kenneth Springborn was born to Norman and Elsie Springborn in Detroit on November 29, 1929 and passed peacefully at his home in Algonac, Michigan on October 9, 2017. He graduated from Denby High School and then proudly served in the United States Army for three years, including at the beginning of the Korean War. He married his beautiful wife Joyce Bradley on October 13, 1956 and together they had two wonderful children (Brad and Carrie). Ken worked in sales at various employers over the years, including Packard Motor Car (where he met his wife), Winkworth Cement, Comcast, and in real estate. Ken enjoyed golf, traveling, and getting together with friends from the Mohawk Club, which was formed 65 years ago at Mt. Zion Church in Detroit. After he retired, he volunteered at St. Martins Church food pantry and soup kitchen.
Survivors include his wife Joyce, his daughter Carrie Ann Todd, grandsons Jeremy Todd, Kyle and Kevin Hunter, daughter-in-law Robin, brother-in-law Dale Ruthenberg, niece Kelli (Jeff) Ray, grandniece Antonia Ruthenberg, Kevin (Stephanie) Ruthenberg, and special cousins Dan and Terry Dean and Elaine Venhuizen. He was predeceased by his beloved son Brad, parents Norman and Elsie Springborn, his sister Elaine Ruthenberg, and his son-in-law Gary Todd.
Service will be held at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church located in Marine City at 156 S. William Street on Thursday, October 12, 2017 with family visitation beginning at 10 am and services beginning at 11 am. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to St. Martin’s Church.
