Karen L. Christie, age 69, of Marysville passed away peacefully January 16, 2014 after a courageous battle with Alzheimers Disease. She was born to the late Jack and Florence Wagner on April 17, 1944 in Wyandotte, MI. She married Read Obituary
It was only last year that I came to find out why I was always closest to my Big Sister Karen. Her influence on me is very much why I am who I am today.
She provided me guidance and strength along with wisdom through out my whole life. All of us will never forget how much joy she had in her heart and always shared it with others. She will always be my Big Sister and my great memories of her will last the rest of my life.

Memories of my sister Karen go all the way back to childhood, especially when she was a teen. Karen excelled at everything; the school band, Rainbow Girls, and even as editor of the high school newspaper. Naturally, she was an all 'A' student and always on the Honor Roll, while I just got by with average grades. Yes, I can remember being told by our mother, “Why can't you be like Karen?”
As we grew older, we remained friends through good times and bad. With her passing, memories of those days now fill my mind.
I'm glad she and Tom had many good years together and gladder still, that Tom has been with her through this difficult time.
Her journey now ended, we can find joy in remembering how her life has influenced us.

I remember Karen (since the the age of 18 when we met. She had a fantastic memory for medical related information, medications, medical terminology, etc..She was one of my best friends. She attended my wedding & helped me pick out my wedding dress in 1968. She was a very kind caring person with the gift of sensitivity to people's feelings & so easy to talk to. When I encountered some very difficult times including the time that I was assigned to teach a 5th grade of very challenging students, she was there to lend emotional support & helped me ride out the school year.
My heart goes out to her loving caring husband & to her son & extended family & to all that knew her as a good friend. I will try to be there at her Memorial Service with my husband.

All the love and kindness Karen shared to her friends and family throughout the years can never be repaid. Tom and Karen was such an important part of my life in my time of need. Tommy was so generous to share his Mom with Lindsay as the grew up. Karen and Tom was always there as an shoulder for me. She is with the Angels and Sandy looking down and smiling on us all.
