John A. "Jack" Randolph's Obituary
John A. “Jack” Randolph, of East China, died November 12, 2015. He was born February 26, 1940 in Marine City to Alvin D. and Teresa M. (Biscorner) Randolph. He married Virginia “Jinny” Caldwell, daughter of George R. and Mary M. (Manley) Caldwell on September 7, 1963 at Holy Rosary Church in Thorold, Ontario, Canada. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2006. He married Lois A. Dickinson, daughter of David Leland and Virneta (Duetsch) Dickinson on May 8, 2008 at Holy Cross Church in Marine City, MI.
Jack served in the U.S. Air Force (1962-1966) during the Vietnam conflict, serving in Southeast Asia. He spent four decades in the computer industry, retiring in 1998 from the St. Clair County Road Commission after 30 years. Jack served eight years as a director with the Michigan Townships Association and President of the Association in 2011. He also served as East China Township Supervisor from 2000 till 2012. His joys were his wife and family, serving people of the township, genealogy and creating stained glass.
Surviving are Lois, his wife the love of his life; son and daughter in law John C. “Chris” and Joanne (Weingartz), grandchildren; Victoria and Brendan, all of Plymouth, MI, stepdaughter Deborah (Zobl) Martin of Houston, TX, stepson Francis J. Zobl of Marine City, step grandchildren; Daniel and Jennifer (Martin) Walker of Houston, TX, sister and sisters in law; Davelene Randolph of Algonac, Marilyn (Dickinson) Hamilton of East China, Sally (Dickinson) Achatz of Algonac, brothers in law; Gerald and Betty (Brieter) Dickinson of East China, James and Patricia (Logan) Dickinson of Cooperstown, NY, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, his mother and father in laws, sisters; Jean (Serek) and Patricia, brothers; Donald R., Alvin D. Jr., and Robert A., sisters in law; Gayle (Thomas) Randolph, Mary (Dickinson) Basney and Linda Dickinson and brothers in law; William Serek and Rodney Dickinson.
The celebration of a Funeral Mass will be Monday November 16th at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Celebrant will be Rev. Stephen Rooney, pastor. Visitation will be at church prior to mass from 9 to 10 a.m. Cremation and urn interment will be held at a later date in Rosehill Cemetery, East China Twp.
