John R. Forbes' Obituary
John R. Forbes, age 84, of Fort Gratiot, formerly of Harrison Twp. passed away March 13, 2014. He was born in Dearborn on January 3, 1930 to the late Guy and Charlotte Forbes. He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He enjoyed shooting pool, horseshoes, and playing euchre. He also enjoyed burgers at Travis' Restaurant in Harrison Twp. and was a huge Tigers fan.
He is survived by his children; John (Dale) Forbes, Darlene (Tom) Frasher, Martin (Debbie) Forbes, Charlotte (Tim) Markel, Shelly (Mike) Fisk. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother; Hugh (Velma) Forbes, sister; Ann McCormick, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandson; Brian Markel and sister; Joyce Charbenau.
