Please accept my condolences. I enjoyed volunteering with Joanne at Art on the Bay. Loved talking about hair color and wigs with her. Such a dear sweet woman. I’m grateful I was able to visit with her at The Village of East Harbor. She was a fighter and will be missed. Condolences to her family and friends.
I will miss our phone calls and all the years of volunteering together. She helped me get over the fear of doctors which I will be forever grateful. She was a trustworthy lady and one of my dearest friends that I had in my life for 29 years. May God bless her family and give them comfort.
I'm so grateful to Joanne. Before she became my MIL, she was my boss at GDLS. She hired me as temporary summer help in 1985, two weeks after HS graduation. That Fall, I was leaving for Wayne State when she informed me they would extend the contract if I changed to night classes. That decision changed the course of my life. In November, I answered her phone which was my job. On the other end was her son, Eric. For five months, I listened to her stories about her family. I never heard Eric only Rick. Through his mom, Rick asked me out to dinner that night. I wasn't sure and she was like go out for a free dinner and if you don't like him, don't go out with him again. She made it easy. There are so many wonderful memories to share. I hope this inspires others to share a fond memory. Please keep our family in your prayers.
