Joan was an inspiration to a large group of us who used to meet regularly in Port Huron. Watching her nimble fingers knit incredibly beautiful and complex socks inspired me to get back into making things by hand. She always sought excellence in anything she pursued and she had very high standards that I appreciated. Her stories of overcoming life's challenges were so helpful and taught me to endure. Sending all my love to her family, especially Bob.
I knew Joan from high school where we shared some classes. She was so smart, and fun to talk to. It was great to renew our old friendship at the Denby Reunions. Sending my prayers for her eternal life and to the family for peace in her passing.

Such a wonderful role model to have for a Camp Fire leader. She was so skilled at putting it all together and making it all work out. No wonder my mom would drive our van full of teenage girls anywhere and everywhere with her. I am grateful for those experiences and Mrs Dunsmore blessing my life.
