Jan F. Stachura's Obituary
Jan F. Stachura, age 78, of Cottrellville Twp., left this experience to be with the Lord on June 1, 2023. He was born on February 3, 1945 to the late Bruno and Wanda Stachura.
Jan graduated from Osborn High School in 1963. Following high school, he went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy for 4 years. After his time in the Navy, Jan received his associates degree from Macomb College. He then worked as a Police officer in Detroit, retiring after 26 years of service. He married the love of his life, Mary Gajeski on September 7, 1974. Jan was a lifetime NRA member. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, going to the shooting range, collecting coins, as well as scrap metal recycling, ice fishing, and reading, especially his Bible. Jan was a practicing Lutheran. A true man of faith, who believed God was his Lord and Savior. He was a constant Patriot; Jan was proud to be an American and loved his country.
He is survived by his best friend and wife, Mary; children, Kelly (Rick) Jungwirth, Jan-Michael Stachura; grandchildren, Benjamin (Krysten) Backer, Sara (Dylan) Lambrix, Zachary Backer, Rachael Backer (Colton Dale), Shannon (Alec) Fox, Brendan Jungwirth, Luke Jungwirth, Marshall Seczawa; great grandson, Lucas Backer; sisters, Dana Barrett, Christine Peterson; sister-in-law, Georgia Stachura.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Ed Stachura.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 8th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Marine City. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 7th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. As well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
