Terribly sad to read of Jim's passing. He was, in automotive parlance,
a "one off". A truly unique individual that will be missed by many. I always enjoyed time spent with Jim no matter when or where. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family....God Speed Jim!

My deepest sympathies to your family. Jim and I were both in the Korean War and on the Detroit Police Department together. I knew Jim well as he came up to Communications a lot as part of his job. He was a great guy and good friend and will be missed.

Joan, I remember the 1953 Mercury with the sunroof. You lived across the street on Flanders and rented a house next to your families house.Jim was the first policeman in my life and set a great example for me.You both came to my fathers funeral.I found out Jim owned an auto parts store in Rattle Run and visited him one time.He was restoring a 1953 Mercury in the back room.I hope it's still in the Family. He made the world a better place.May he rest in peace.
