James Robert "JD" Darling's Obituary
James Robert “JD” Darling, age 75 of China Twp. Passed away unexpectedly April 10, 2022. He was born May 10, 1946 in San Diego, California to the late Robert and Florence Darling.
Jim was an avid hunter and loved to ride his motorcycle. He also liked playing euchre, BBQing for his family and friends, throwing horseshoes and going to garage sales. He was a fantastic stepdad and loved spending time with his family and friends especially bugging his best friend, Dave. Jim was dedicated to helping Veterans especially Operation Christmas with Chapter 154 Vietnam Veterans of America in Macomb County.
Jim is survived by his wife of 15 years, Suzanne (Sears); sister Jane Darling; half-sister Shirley Howell; stepchildren, Christina (Matthew) Plucinski, Mike (Jenn) DuBay, Kelly Kaczmarek, Kim Winkler, Scott (Kaitlyn) Darling and 8 step grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his half-brother Captain Robert H. Darling.
A Celebration of Life will be held April 22, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at the St. Clair Lions Club located at 4900 St. Clair Hwy, East China, Michigan 48054. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chapter 154 Vietnam Veterans of America located at 18025 East 15 Mile Road Clinton Twp., Michigan 48035.
