I became acquainted with Jackie when we were both nurses at River District Hospital in St Clair. Jackie always had a smile. Jackie was a hard worker. Jackie was a fantastic nurse, and I loved her sarcastic humor. Jackie absolutely loved each and everyone of her kids. She always bragged about them all. Jackie went through a lot in her life. But she always seemed to get through it and didn’t let any grass grow under her feet. As life went on, Jackie and I saw each other again in a different world. She was a volunteer for Hospice. She came to my door as a sitter to give me a break when my grandmother was at my home dying from cancer …when I saw her at the door I had such a relief because I knew she was dependable and solid, and would do whatever it took to help us in our hospice journey. When she came to the door to say that she was the hospice sitter. I instantly. started crying because in the moment I knew that I could get a break and sleep and I knew my grandma was in the best hands God could’ve ever provided to me. I’m so thankful for her, helping us through that part of our life, she will forever be in my heart. God bless her, and I hope she how’s that peace that she’s so deserves..❤️
