Jack Wood's Obituary
Jack Wood, age 80, of Marine City, formerly of Algonac, died August 15, 2015. He was born February 9, 1935 in Hazel Park. Jack worked in the construction trades for over 30 years and retired from Laborers’ Local 1191. During retirement he enjoyed assisting in many community activities including Helping Hands.
He is survived by his sons; John (Kitty) Wood and Greg Wood, granddaughter; Sarah Wood, great grandchildren; Kaiden and Natalie, sisters; Leona Alexander, Marguerite Brower, Dorothy Ameel and Sally (Larry) Galiotti and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Harriet Wood and brothers; Leonard and Donald Wood.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Interment will be in St. Catherine Cemetery, Algonac. Visiting hours are Thursday 6 -9 p.m. and Friday 3 – 9 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
