It sounds like Uncle Jack was just like his brother Don; my father in law. I only met Uncle Jack twice since I married David Wood in 1969. He was so nice to us on those visits. I still grieve for Davids' father because he was always very very good to me until he passed away. I wanted you to know that although we are far away we would of come to the funeral had we known. We hope to see relatives some time in the future.

Dear family: I never knew this kind gentleman's name, but as I was looking up an obituary for a family friend on the funeral home's website I recognized his face instantly. Years ago, I would see him in church and one Sunday he sat right behind me. The priest spoke about being a good shepherd. During the mass I was teaching my young son the proper way to pray and make the sign of the cross. When it came time to offer a sign of peace to those round you, I turned to Jack, he shook my hand and with a smile and tear in his eye, he said " You are an example of a good shepherd as the priest talked about. May you be blessed every day of your life." I will never forget that and am very grateful for his kind words. I just wanted to share that with you. I am sure there any many more instances of his kind words.

I will always and forever remember that beard of yours Uncle Jack! From a little girl to a grown woman, I never got tired pulling on it. My mom always said that you could stop me from crying when I was a baby. That's because you were always comforting. You made people happy. Whenever I saw you, I would smile. We knew if Uncle Jack was there then it would be a great time. I have some great memories of being with you & Aunt Harriet, Johnny and Greg as a kid. You and Aunt Harriet raised a great couple of boys and they will carry on your legacies in the most respectful way. I'm so thankful to God that I had you in my life. You touched many lives. I just love you to pieces Uncle Jack, and you will always hold a piece of my heart. I'll miss you so much.
I was privileged to know Jack. We had a lot of good times. From drinks out to breakfast. We'd even go shopping. Hee always had a big jaw breaker for my girls. Jack I will forever love you. I know your dancing with Harriet right now.
I remember when Jack and Harriet would come in to Calico Corner Flowers. He was such a kind and giving person. I was blessed to have known them. RIP Jack
