Jack Thomasian's Obituary
"Pa", Jack Thomasian, a beloved family man, avid sportsman, and proud U.S. Army Veteran, passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 97, surrounded by his family. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 57 years, Dolly. Together they built a life in Warren, raising two children, Pamela (Kenneth) Bubeck and Deborah (Steve) Hamilton. He was the beloved grandfather of Nicholas (fiancée Sharon Magnes) Bondarek and Tony Spina, and great-grandfather of Madison and Amira Bondarek and Vincent Spina. Later in life, Jack was blessed to find love again and married Janet in 2006. Janet brought immense joy, companionship, and care into his life. Jack grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a strong sense of duty. He enlisted in the United States Army in [Year], serving during the Korean War from 1952 – 1954. Following his military service, Jack returned home and built a life centered on family, hard work, and shared adventures. He proudly worked as a sheet metal Journeyman at Chrysler for 30 years before his retirement in 1981. Jack was a true sportsman at heart. He spent countless hunting seasons up north and hunted big game abroad with his best friend, Wayne Biederman. He was a long-time Benefactor Member of the National Rifle Association and found great peace in the woods during deer season. He took great joy in teaching his daughters and grandchildren gun safety, ethics, and responsible conservationism. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed enough to share in his legacy.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit. Visiting hours are Monday, April 6th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
