Lots of fond memories of Harold. He was my principal in elementary school; He hung out with my parents and played volleyball in our big pool; they went to the cabin on weekends, Tiger baseball games. All kinds of fun stuff. Tom Danneels
When I think about Uncle Harold I think of chocolate candy bars, cheeseburgers, coca cola, a shiny motorcycle, a perfectly clean swimming pool. I think of kindness, humor, and remember him always saying be careful if KC and I went out driving the car. I remember getting picked up from elementary school in his caddie that took up the entire block. I remember his after school routines existing of shining his shoes, ironing, doing dishes and watching Guiding Light. I think of my grandma Welser calling him several times to check on things and he was always so patient.
I think of holidays together and him walking in with the endless delicious pies my Aunt Jan made for every holiday. I remember hoping my aunt would have to work late so Uncle Harold would let us get McDonalds, DQ, or pizza for dinner. I think of him walking to Lukes party store for pop in glass bottles. I think of seeing him at school, and watching him be the best dad to my best friends and cousins. I remember how he was so generous with my Aunt Jan. I think of how kind he always was to my parents and my siblings and their kids. I think of how happy I am to know his family I call mine in Lewiston Michigan. I think of the grandfather he was to Chad , then Mel and recently Julianne. I will always think about how lucky I am to have such an extraordinary Uncle that lived near me my entire life. I will miss you very much. Life won’t be the same without you in it. Love you

When I married into this family, I soon learned who Uncle Harold was. If ever a man was unassuming, kind, had a ready smile, could tell a great story and always give you a warm welcome into his house, it was him. We are all so lucky to have known him, and will miss him dearly.

If I had to use one word to describe uncle Harold it would be the Best! The best husband, dad, grampa , great grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He was so caring and funny and loved his family! Always making all of us feeling so loved , he pretty much had to because he was so outnumbered by all the Welsers and there are a lot of us! Holidays were the Best having him share all of them with us at 420, literally standing room only but we so loved that we got to share them with him. He was the best dressed always, had the cleanest pool, car, lawnmower, shined shoes, and of course the best of the best everything, he would of not had it any other way, He loved Aunt Jan so much, Nancy and KC and Paul too , But then came Chad ! No grandson will ever have a better grampa! He was so proud of you Chad! He loved Melanie, and now Julie Ann, he was over the moon just talking about her! We are all so blessed having you in our life Uncle Harold, you gave us such great memories thank you Love you always Patty
