Gloria (Carter) Pitzer's Obituary
Gloria (Carter) Pitzer, age 82, of St. Clair County, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018. She married Paul Pitzer June 16, 1956 in Royal Oak and he preceded her in death in 2014. Gloria was The Secret Recipe Detective. She started Gloria Pitzer’s Secret Recipes in 1974.
Gloria was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority at Michigan State University from 1954 to 1956. Her other memberships included the Detroit City Women’s Club, Michigan Federation of Press Women and Good Sam’s RV Club. Gloria’s was passionate about writing, art, animals and of course cooking. She was a spiritual woman of strong faith.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Pitzer of New Orleans and Michael (Lynn) Pitzer of Fresno, California and daughters, Debra (Jim) Hamilton of China Twp., Laura (Dave) Emerich of St. Clair and Cheryl Pitzer of Marysville; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 sisters. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Esther Carter and a half brother and half sister
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 3rd at 1 p.m. with a reception and luncheon to follow at Community Wesleyan Church, 2415 Gratiot Blvd., Marysville. Arrangements by Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
