Gerald "Jerry" Silvas' Obituary
Gerald C. "Jerry" Silvas, age 80, of St. Clair, died January 26, 2011. He was born April 18, 1930 in Detroit. Jerry was married to Louise Silvas for 34 years, she preceded him in death in 1987. He married Muriel Likins in 1991. Jerry formerly owned and operated St. Clair River Lanes and the Voyageur Restaurant in St. Clair for over 34 years.
He was member of the St. Clair River Country Club since 1962 and a former member of the Rotary Club. Jerry was an avid bowler and golfer.
He is survived by his wife Muriel Silvas, son; Jerry A. (Kelly) Silvas, daughter; Valerie Silvas, mother; Dorothy Jessop, grandchildren; Adam and Alex Silvas, dear family friend; Linda Simons, step sons; Bill Likins and John (Karen) Likins, step grandchildren; Josh (Kim) Likins, Jeanne (T.J.) Watkins, Aubrey (Tony) Williams, Jessica, Jarred, and Kara Likins, step great grandchildren; Lila and Lincoln Watkins, Hunter Likins, and Jackson Williams.
He was preceded in death by his father; Charles Silvasi and grandparents; Frank and Elizabeth Mihalyi.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Pallbearers are Alex and Adam Silvas, Josh and Jarred Likins, Frank Dodea, and Kerry Kline. Visiting hours are Friday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
