My family met the Roegner family through St. Pauls Episcople Church. And,
All the tributes, accolades, etc. that are being shared about George and the family are well-deserved.
Over the years, my Mom & Dad remained friends of theirs and I know that, were they still alive today, they would be very saddened upon hearing of his passing but thankful that they were able to share in some of his memories during their lifetimes...... May Peace be with him...... The Jones family
What a wonderful man George was. My mother Elaine (Smith) Beach (passed 12/27/20) always thought of George as "another brother". She graduated from St. Clair along with Nip (her "best" friend) and George. I have memories of George as far back as going to Ma Roegner's house on 8th Street. The Roegners and Smiths have always been great friends. My husband and I visited Nip and George a couple years ago and we drove around St. Clair going down many memory lanes. As we grew up (the Beach kids), our parents visited the Roegner's each summer and have good memories of playing with their kids. Sue and I became good friends. One of the favorite things my brothers and I remember is George taking us out on their boat on the river. We thought that was so cool, and even better, George taught us how to water ski. George sure had patience. Our prayers are with you, Nip , and all of the Roegner "kids", and your families. What a beautiful family you have. May loving memories comfort you. Love, Cindy (Hill), Curt and Craig Beach
When I was in elementary school, Mr Roegner was part of East China's summer recreation program. He was a good guy and although I didn't atend public school, I heard Good things about him and cherish my summer memories.
Mr Roegner was one of my favorite teachers. I had him for fifth grade at east china. One of my best years in school
