Edmund "Bud" Stone's Obituary
Edmund F. "Bud" Stone, age 86, of Fort Gratiot, passed away March 6, 2017. Bud was born January 11, 1931 to Edmund and Geraldine (Kramer) Stone. Beloved husband of Nancy Lou (Urban).
Cherished father of 4 children and their spouses: Sally (Stone) Bulgarelli and Carl; Jan (Stone) Schmerheim; Robert Stone and Pam (Taylor); and Ronald Stone. Loving grandfather of Todd Bulgarelli; Brianna (Bulgarelli) Peterson & husband Kelly; Jamie Schmerheim & wife Megan (Diaz); Megan Schmerheim; Kelsey Stone; Shannon Stone; Ashley Stone; Jordan Stone; and Jillian Stone.
Great-grandfather to Kaden; Gavin; and Kenna Peterson and Avery Mathis.
Dear brother of Mary Martz and Joseph Stone. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
He was also predeceased by his parents, beloved granddaughter; Erin Elizabeth Stone; and 6 infant children and brother, William Stone.
Bud attended Denby High School in Detroit maintaining close friendships with his and Nancy's classmates until his death. He was an electrician and proud member of IBEW Local 58 for over 65 years. He played professional baseball for a short time and loved the sport. He was a devout Catholic, and after God (and baseball!) his family was his biggest joy.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair located at 415 N. 6th St. on March 17 at 1:00 p.m. A memorial gathering will take place at church one hour prior to mass for family and friends to share memories of Bud.
Memorial contributions can be made to either the IBEW Local 58 Benevolent Fund, the Juvenile Diabetes Association, or the Hunter Hospitality House in Port Huron.
