Bud Stone aka The Rock
Below is a poetic tribute to one of my most favorite people on the world.
The Rock
What more is there to say
Than what's been felt and thought and said
About the beautiful life
The man we called The Rock has led
Like the one known as Gibraltar
And the high of a mountain peak
Like the ones that form an island
This Rock truly was unique
Of strength and love and fairness
And living in his joy
Of family, friends and laughter
A great motto to employ
Like a river quietly flowing
Like a bench in the back of a yard
Where a blue light neon glowing
This Rock never was too hard
Should you find yourself on an island path
Just rollin on two wheels alone
You'll be on the same path as a great one
For The Rock was a rolling Stone
He stood for what he believed in
Believed in for what he stood
In a cottage on a peaceful waterway
Made of rock and wire and wood
Of the lion the tiger and red wing
Of the sporting fun of it all
Nothing possessed the magic
Quite like the glove and the bat and the ball
A man of the wire, a man of the faith
A man on a trail on a bike
A man with a wife he loved his whole life
The Rock. What was not to like?
RIP Rock,
