Donald E. Snyder's Obituary
Donald E. Snyder, age 65, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 9, 2021. He was born July 9, 1955 to the late Clifford and Leona Snyder. Don graduated from St. Clair High School in 1973. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, and continued to be an avid Spartans fan. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of 118th MP Co., 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. Following his time in the service Don married Mary Ellyn Beier on September 12, 1980. He worked for the Detroit Edison for 32 years. For many years Don coached boys and girls AYSO and travel soccer teams. In his spare time Don enjoyed doing home improvement projects for his children and grandchildren. Most of all, Don cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, who he adored.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Ellyn; children, Brent (Amanda) Snyder, Dayna Snyder; grandchildren, Jaxson and Zoey, as well as many other family members and friends.
Cremation arrangements by Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Private family services are being conducted. A celebration of Don’s life will take place this summer of 2021.
