Donald Romain Dewey's Obituary
Donald Romain Dewey, age 86, of Marine City, passed away June 29, 2025. He was born November 18, 1938 in St. Clair to the late Donald and Freeda Dewey.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He married Edith "Edie" Jones on August 26, 1961 in Anchorville. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2019.
He retired from Nagle Industries in Troy after many years of service. He enjoyed golfing and fishing very much. Most of all he cherished his time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children; Mary Ann Dewey (Jim DeHenau), Donald R. III (Terri Ann) Dewey, Lisa (Tim) Frantz and Teresa (Kevin) Ward.
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Donald R. IV (Ellyse) Dewey, Georgia (Bryan) Matthews, Jacob (Calsie) Dewey, Micah (James) Dupuie, Joel (Heather) Frantz, Joshua Frantz, Keagan Frantz, Kevin (Kayla) Ward and Emily (Matthew) Connin along with 15 great-grandchildren, his sister; Emma Sharrow, brother; Elmer Dewey and sister in-law; Sharon Dewey and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother; Harvey Dewey and sister in-law; Carol Dewey.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Village of East Harbor for their care and compassion.
A memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to the family and will be given to local charities in the area.
