Dale G. Sherman's Obituary
Dale G. Sherman, age 81, of Algonac, passed on December 18, 2021, unexpectedly. He was born in Detroit on May 7, 1940 to Clifford and Amy (Buck) Sherman. He married Cheryl (Gigliotti) Sherman July 5, 2002. Dale is survived by his beloved wife Cheryl, son Rick Sherman, daughters Debbie Evans (Frank Jerome), and Dena (Cameron) Truhn, and stepdaughter Nicole (Joe) Monahan, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Dale retired from Ford Motor Company in 2002, a millwright. In his earlier years, he worked/volunteered for the Algonac fire department and was a rescue diver. He also volunteered at Holy Cross church. He cared about helping others.
In his free time, Dale enjoyed carving ducks, decoys and fish. His detailed carving won him several awards. He was an amazing patient wood carver and could make his wonderful carving come alive with his meticulous painting.
Dale’s greatest love was for his wife, spending his everyday with her. He loved traveling together with memorable vacations to Florida, the Carolina’s, and several cities throughout Michigan. He enjoyed the
outdoors, fishing, boating, kayaking, bike riding, snow-shoeing, taking long walks and simply admiring the wild life.
He loved the whole family, and spending time with them.
He was greatly loved by his family, as well as many others and all will miss him dearly.
A mass service will be held on January 14, 1:00 p.m., at Our Lady on the River Church, Holy Cross Marine City. The family will receive visitors from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. prior to mass. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
