I was lucky to call Crystal my friend for more than a decade. When I first met her, I was in high school and just getting my bearings in life. Even then, I knew that she was a remarkable person that I wanted to get to know. Every time I had the chance to visit her, Senea, and Zakir, I felt renewed and full of light. Topics from our visits would range from "Have you done your taxes?" (which for me, was not always a yes) to "What would be the craziest adventure to go on?" These conversations were my favorite to have with her, and her friendship is one I will always cherish deeply.
While I grieve that I won't be able to share another laugh, some wine, or another beautiful conversation with her again, I take comfort in knowing that she is watching over us all, and brought so much warmth into her loved ones lives.
