Lots of great memories with Charlie - playing against him in the shuffleboard league, to being his teammate when we won the league shuffleboard championship with the Marwood bar. Serving together with the Old Newsboys, to working in the beer tent for Maritime Days to being locked in at Anita’s, helping her make venison stew. Thanks for your sense of humor and for a beer and a shot of whiskey when we visited. Rest easy, old friend.
I worked for Charlie as his cleaning lady up until 2021. He was the sweetest, funniest, and most knowledgeable man. Sometimes I wouldn't get much cleaning done because we would sit and just talk about life. I was working 2 jobs and going to college to be a teacher, Charlie was so supportive of me and often told me if I couldn't make it that it was okay. I loved coming to "work" just to talk to him. He knew my grandpa and uncles from back in the day and always had a good story to tell me. He was a wonderful man. RIP Charlie
