Carol A. Cotton Lucht Seaman's Obituary
Carol A. Cotton Lucht Seaman, age 65, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 25, 2020. She was born on November 1, 1954 in St. Clair to Charles and Gwendolyn Cotton. Carol married Craig Seaman on August 4, 2000 at Lakeside beach in Port Huron.
Carol worked for the East China School District as a gym teacher and was the St. Clair High School’s men’s and women’s varsity swim coach for many years. She had many accomplishments as head coach including many district championship titles and awarded Coach of the year in 2012. Carol had an impact on many athletes and students over her years of teaching and coaching. She also taught lifeguarding for many years. Carol was inducted into the St. Clair Hall of Fame in 2009. After retirement Carol really enjoyed playing pickle ball where many new friends were made, she loved to ride her bike and had participated in the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI). Carol loved to travel, her motorcycle trips out west with her husband and their 40-day trip to Europe were her favorites. But most of all Carol loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Craig Seaman; daughter, Angela Lucht; son, Noel Lucht; mother, Gwendolyn Cotton; brothers, Dave Cotton, Steve Cotton; sister, Rebecca Cotton; stepdaughter, Michelle (Andy) Prais; stepson, Michael (Stefanie) Seaman; step granddaughters, Lauren and Gwyneth Prais, Alexia and Makayla Seaman, along with several nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by her father Charles Franklin Cotton.
Due to current circumstances, burial has taken place and a Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
