Mrs. Betty Hoskin's Obituary
Betty Hoskin, age 79, of Marine City, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 in River District Hospital. Betty was born November 30, 1935, to the late Lottie Sroka. She graduated from Marine City High School in 1954 and married Clifford Hoskin July 24, 1954. Cliff passed away in 2008. She worked for the Detroit Gasket and Mallards Landing. She was a hard worker, caring person, animal lover, and a great mom. We will all miss her smile, sense of humor, loving concern, and her apple pie. She enjoyed shopping, yard work, traveling, dining out, and especially spending time with her family, including her beloved dog, Zoe, who passed away last month.
She is survived by her children Cindy and Dan Shafer, Robert and Lisa Hoskin and Michelle Hoskin; sister Peggy Heaslip; sister-in-law Charlene Richardson; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by mother-in-law Emma Shields and brother-in-law Derek Powell.
The family plans a private memorial service at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Humane Society of St. Clair County-SNAP (Fred Moore Highway, St. Clair). We want to thank Michelle’s friends and staff at RDH for the excellent care given to Mom and your genuine concern shown to our family during this past week.
