We are so sorry we can’t be with Joe, Carrie and Joey tomorrow at Bernetta’s service. We both have so many fun and wonderful memories of times spent together at barbershop events! And my kids will always remember Bernetta from her days at the bakery :-) She was truly a kind and wonderful soul- rest in God’s peace.

I graduated with Bernetta. Although I moved away I hold fond memories of Bernetta back when. Rest in peace, my friend.
I met Bernetta many years ago at the IGA. She was sweet, honest, caring & empathetic and I was honored to call her my friend. We enjoyed playing jokes on each other and would laugh so hard we had tears! We lost touch through the years and I'll always regret that. She was there for me through one of the hardest times of my life. I was out of commission and I received a beautiful card from her everyday until I was better, she connected & understand what I was going through when many didn't understand. She was there for me for the happiest days as well...her & the girls from the bakery/deli threw me a surprise bridal shower, I was speechless at the kindness. The thing that made Bernetta light up the most when we talked was her family! Her Joe, Carrie & Joey, she adored them, it was beautiful to hear of the kind of love. I have joy knowing that one day we will connect again in heavenly peace.

One of the first people I met moving to MC almost 50 years ago. Her listening ear and her loving heart are what I remember most. God Bless her and her loving family. Till we meet again my friend..... ❤️
The day I saw how deeply devoted Bernetta was in her faith, was on September 11, 2001. She was at the church making calls to members and members' families reaching out to raise so many affected by the tragic events in prayer.
Bernetta was always a bright beacon that this world will sorely miss. Rest well, dear lady.
I was just thinking about Bernetta and Joe a few days ago. It must have been her saying goodbye! I became friends with her when her mom and dad lived at Mallards Landing. She was a good and attentive daughter and I respected her for that! She was always good for a laugh and sang her heart out at our great Christmas parties. She was supportive during the down times in my life and when my partner passed away. I will always remember her with great memories, and I’m also honored that she liked a photo I took of her folks so much that she had it put on their tombstone. Rest well Bernetta.
Mrs. Borneman was such a kind person. She was a wonderful friend to my mom, Sandie Bassett. I can remember going to her home as a child, feeling very welcomed and having a great time on the beach. She always had a big smile and great snacks for my sister and I. In later years, I recall walking in on many bible study sessions - some studying....but lots of laughing and chit-chat too! Sandie & Bernetta together again. <3
