Annmarie Venditti-Mackley's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annmarie Venditti-Mackley, age 60, of St. Clair, who was called home to Heaven on July 19th 2026, following a most courageous battle with cancer.
Annmarie was born on March 15, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan, to her Italian immigrant father, Liviano “Leo” Venditti, and her mother, Doris Venditti. After graduating from Chippewa Valley High School in 1986, Annmarie went on to obtain her cosmetology license from Sibyl Beauty School and began her career as a hairdresser.
Annmarie later obtained her insurance license and began working as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster with Cambridge Integrated Services, where she dedicated nearly 25 years of her career. In her later years, Annmarie served as an administrative assistant at Landmark Academy.
Annmarie was a lover of all animals, but she held an especially deep love for her horses, chickens, ponies, dogs, cats, and miniature donkey. Throughout her life, she opened both her home and her heart to countless animals and found great joy in giving others the opportunity to experience “farm life.”
From childhood through adulthood, Annmarie was a decorated dressage equestrian. Her passion for horses eventually became something she shared with her children and others in the community, teaching them to ride and passing along her knowledge and love for the sport.
When Annmarie was not spending time with her animals, she could most often be found surrounded by her children, granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and family. She spent countless hours in the kitchen cooking and baking, finding tremendous joy in preparing food for others to enjoy. For Annmarie, caring for others was simply a way of life.
Annmarie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Michael Mackley; her parents, Doris and Liviano Venditti; and many of her beloved pets who undoubtedly welcomed her home.
She is survived by her children, Alexis Terzo, Alyssa Terzo, and Leo (Jaclyn) Terzo; her stepchildren, Lindsey (Matt) Schwieger and Matt (Jessica) Mackley; her granddaughter, Amelia VanKirk; and her great-nephews, Ronan and Ashton Silvey. Annmarie is also survived by many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and, of course, her beloved fur babies.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd at Young Funeral Home in China Township from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a sharing of memories and remembrances at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Annmarie’s wishes were for family and friends to plant a tree in her memory or make a donation to a local animal charity.
Annmarie will be remembered for her strength, her courage, her love for animals, and the way she cared so deeply for those around her. Her home was always open, her kitchen was always busy, and her heart always had room for one more person—or one more animal.
Her love and memory will live on through the family, friends, and animals whose lives she touched.
