Alan W. Tackaberry's Obituary
Alan Walter Tackaberry age 65 of Washington Twp., died Friday, July 30, 2010 after a short illness. Alan was born October 14, 1944 in St. Clair to Hilda and the late Harry Tackaberry. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1962 and attended Michigan State University before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Alan proudly served on CVN-65, U.S.S. Enterprise during Vietnam. Currently he worked for the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit and was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, St. Clair.
Alan is survived by his two son’s Jason (Lori) and Jeff (Kelly); two grandsons
Seth and Jaxen; his mother Hilda Tackaberry, brother Charles (Marilyn) Tackaberry;
sister Jean Renauer; and partner Elaine McNeil.
Cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends in the Young Funeral Home, China Twp., MI on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 AM in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 123 S. Seventh, St. Clair, MI 48079.
