W. Jeanne Elsholz
EAST CHINA - Jeanne Elsholz, 73, entered eternal life on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 after a long illness. She was born on August 16, 1938 daughter of the late Walter & Cora Schneider.
Jeanne was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marine City. Jeanne married Bernard Elsholz on May 3, 1958 at Holy Cross Church, Marine City. She was employed as Assistant Personnel Manager at Akzo Salt (formerly Diamond Crystal) in St. Clair retiring in 1994 after over 30 years of employment.
Jeanne loved the outdoors, especially her many years via Al-gon-a-Camping Club and Blue Water Audubon Society. She and Bernie had traveled to 49 states. She was an accomplished piano teacher and pianist, an avid bowler and talented artist. Jeanne also enjoyed gardening, photography, golf, playing Euchre, Bridge and family game nights.
Jeanne leaves behind her husband Bernie of 53 years and daughter Kay (William) Smith, sisters; Sandra Gramer, Debbie Langell and Audrey Schneider. Sisters-in-law; Ruth Schneider, Elda (John) Kierszykowski, Dorothy Steward, Ruth (Elmer) Partyka, brother-in-law:Ken (Louise) Elsholz and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Cora Schneider; brother, James Schneider and brother-in-law, James Gramer.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marine City at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 23rd following visitation at 11:00am at the church. Msgr. George Browne will officiate.
Visiting hours are from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, September 22nd at Young Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Hwy., East China, MI. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, East China, MI.
Memorial tributes may be offered to Michigan Nature Association.
