Mrs Winifred I. "Winnie" Duetsch's Obituary
Winifred I. "Winnie" Duetsch, age 89, of Casco Twp., died September 1, 2013. She was born September 26, 1923 in Anchorville to the late Henry and Minnie Weil.
On February 20, 1943 Winifred married Stanley Duetsch in New Baltimore. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2006.
Winnie was the Casco Township Clerk and Deputy Clerk for 27 years. She was also a custodian for the East China School District.
Winnie was an accomplished painter and also loved sewing, quilting, reading, square dancing, traveling, camping, playing euchre and watching Tiger baseball.
She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Casco Twp.
She is survived by her children; Ilene (Roy) Dubay, Karen (Denny) Strevel and Paul (Kimberly) Duetsch, daughter in law; Betty Duetsch, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, sister; Loretta Izworski, brother in law; Kenneth (Sharon) Duetsch, sisters in law; Florence Duetsch, Alvira Coulthard and Valerie (Art) McHaney and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by a son; James Duetsch, granddaughter; Susan Duetsch, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday September 6th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Casco Twp. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Thursday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Friday 10:30 to 11:00 at the church prior to services.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Church General Fund.
