William J. Walter's Obituary
William “Bill” J. Walter, age 78, of Clay Township, passed away June 25, 2010 at his home. He was born on December 31, 1931 to the late Arthur and Sophie Walter.
Bill was a plant manager for Detroit Gasket for many years. He was an avid boater and outdoorsman who loved spending time outdoors. Bill was a graduate of Lawrence Tech in Southfield, Michigan. Bill was an elder, usher, Chairman of the Church, and Sunday school teacher of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fair Haven. Bill was devoted to his family and his church and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Jayann Walter. Children; Bill (Suzanne) Walter, Jana (Robert) Desilets. Grandchildren; Phillip and Paul Desilets, and Andrea (Gerry) Hanson. Great-grandchildren; Benjamin and Gerry Hanson.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday St. Peters Lutheran Church, Fair Haven at 11am. Visitation at Young Funeral Home, China Township on Sunday from 2-8pm. Additional visitation from am to 10-11am at the church on Monday. Interment, Oaklawn Cemetery, Clay Township.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fair Haven and Blue Water Area Humane Society.
