William R. "Rick" Yamin's Obituary
William R. "Rick" Yamin, age 76, of St. Clair, formerly of Detroit, passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 20,1947 in Detroit to the late William and Rose Yamin.
He married Margaret Gray on June 21, 1968 in Detroit at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church.
Rick proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. He later served as a police officer with the City of Detroit from 1973 to 1987.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus belonging to St. Nicholas Council 7011 in Sterling Heights.
Rick enjoyed hunting with his son and grandsons. He also liked to fish and golf as well. Most of all he cherished his time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife; Margaret Yamin, his daughters; Connie (Mark) Formicola, Sandy Scheibner (Brian) and daughter in-law; Lisa Yamin.
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Justin (Daniela), Jacob, Stephanie (Matt), Brandon, Samantha, William (Isabella), Joseph, Thomas, Anna, Mary, Michael, Matthew, Richard, John Paul, Stephen and David, his great-grandchildren; Luka, Winter, Regina, Grace and his sister; Colleen Smock.
He was preceded in death by his son; Richard Yamin and son in-law; Dennis Pulver.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Private interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with rosary at 7:15 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
